Greylen's Interim Story
Greylen pushes himself back from the scrying table with a small sigh. Rubbing his temples lightly with his fingertips, he smiles wryly to the little rust-red pseudodragon curled up asleep on his shoulder.
"Well, Xavier. It seems I am at an impasse. This information may be harder to glean that I had originally thought." He muses to him, not expecting a reply, but just talking out of force of habit.
"I shall have to investigate myself, I suppose." he continues to himself as he dismisses the levitating disk and stands, careful not to interrupt his best friends catnap.
With a practiced movement, Greylen makes an intricate sign and an iron-bound, wooden door appears in the wall of the small, unadorned chamber, and the soft white glow in the large crystal table in the center goes out. The door opens easily on well oiled hinges as he steps out onto the landing platform of the east tower and launches himself into the crisp, clean air of a beautiful summer day.
Greylen smiles to himself as he leisurely flies over to the central building of his castle home, the sight of the rolling ground far below never failing to get his heart thumping a little faster from the beauty of the view. Looking around he takes note they seem to be floating over the grain fields of a major kingdom, judging from the number of tiny workers in the fields and the extent of the crop being grown. He wonders briefly if those field workers would even notice the odd shaped cloud illusion that hides his floating castle, but then shrugs lightly, not truly caring if they did or even where they were at the moment, his mind still mostly occupied with the problem at hand.
