The mere sight of him was enough to cause my hand--reflexively--to begin to draw my sword. If I hadn’t stowed my warpike across my back to ease the climb into the ship, I could have struck him down. My sword stopped, half-drawn, as I realized the futility of an attack. We were surrounded by well-armed men and the elf wielded a sword that emanated power. Jalore apparently had the same thoughts as I; he grabbed my arm to keep me from drawing my blade.
