I just realized that Graham McTavish (Dwalin) is probably best known to geekdom as the Warden on the last season of Red Dwarf. I'm still trying to identify any of the other dwarves.

I was mentioning to some friends at my infusion today that so few movies are 'Premier watching' worthy.

This is one of them. Very Happy Very Happy

When this comes out next year, I'll be there the first day. Probably not a midnight showing, but definitely that day.

Just in case you've been spending too much time under your respective rocks...

so, I kinda geeked out a bit right at the first part since I stood right where Frodo was walking down the path in front of Bag End.

How am I supposed to get any work done this year if I have to wait until December?

On a side note, I love how the Hobbit has the same "feel" as the LOTR.

OK, I didn't make the premier... and not even the second day, but I broke down when I had a little time and took Zach to see this on Saturday.

Wow! What a wonderful entry into the LOTR family. Same Epic feel, sweeping vistas, carefully crafted CGI and at least a nod to the book's storyline for a good portion.

The first part was a bit slow in getting started, but it picked up quickly from there. I just have one major problem with it...

TWO more installments?! Yikes! Evidently they'll be stretching things out a bit. Or more than a bit. But it's good telling.

Zach and I saw it in the new Dbox at Jordon Commons and I was NOT impressed with the Dbox. At least for this movie. Next time it's 3-D IMAX for sure.

Speaking of next time, if anyone wants to go, let me know and we'll plan a day. Smile
